Steel Trap Trivia

I had the distinct pleasure of photographing Steel Trap Trivia at the Bethlehem Brew Works last night. It happens every Wednesday at the Bethlehem location, registration starts at 8:30. It is a killer time if you and some friends feel like going out for a drink and experiencing more than just the normal bar scene. Its kinda like “Wait wait don’t tell me” meets a nice glass of beer. Oh and there are prizes too (this month the prizes are from Home& Planet and The Wise Bean). For more info go to The BrewWorks

P.S. I ate the Fish Tacos and had a Framboise (Raspberry) Lambic Beer. Just that side of amazing. The Tacos alone were phenomenal, like a firecracker of awesomeness exploded in my mouth.

The Brewworks ≈ Martinis & Manicures (St. Patty’s Day)

Ok seriously this event has become standing room only, the brewworks may correct me on this but there was like 150 people at this one. If you have no idea what Martini’s & Manicures is click on this link now and reserve your spot for next month and tell them Mike sent you over. Were talkin’ $10 for a martini and your choice of a manicure or massage (ladies only, sorry fellas find somewhere else to go get your nails done).

Normally with the partybooth (click to see the partybooth) I only utilize found props, things on location. That way I have the creativity amp turned up to 11 (Spinal Tap reference for those in the know) But for St. Patty’s day I broke down and injected a little irish in the mix.

Here are a couple of my favorites but you can always see all of the latest Martini’s picts by clicking here

“The sun will come out tomorrow” … well it came out today

For those that know my very shy daughter Sienna, be prepared to be blown away, I was. Today was the first performance of NEMS’s musical “Annie”. My daughter Sienna some months back auditioned for the part of Annie. At first I was thinking “Ohh my G-d how is she going to do it? She is going to run off the stage mid performance and it will be devastating.”

Sienna is 12 and talented in so many ways, it’s just not funny. She always gets high honors, straight A’s, at 11 she was designing and sewing her own clothing line, but stick her in front of people and she cringes and slowly shrinks into herself. To be in a play was a big step , to be the lead had me worried. To make things worse she wouldn’t practice in front of us. She would go up into her room lock herself in and turn the music up so high that we really couldn’t tell how her singing was coming along.

It is with tears in my eyes that I write this because let me tell you when the curtain opened, and she began to sing, I didn’t take a picture. With camera poised my jaw dropped. The sound that came out was not my little girl. She was loud, confident  and sounding exactly like the CDs we have been playing over and over again for the past couple months. I owe a big thank you to Mrs. Parker & Mr. Denatzko from NEMS who did a fantastic job of not just the production of Annie but breaking my little girl out of her shell.

And a very big congratulations to Sienna who did a phenomenal job, we are so very proud of you!

Austin Wedding Blog - Wow, those photos are stunning and super vibrant! Thanks for sharing!

Me on MTV’s Real World Brooklyn (my 1/15th of a second of fame)

You may have remembered my fashion week coverage of Love Brigade’s Spring 2009 Collection way back in September. Here’s the link  But what I forgot to mention was that it was also the setting for a small portion of MTV’s the real world (episode 5)

After finally getting the chance to watch it (and much rewinding and slow motion I could finally find myself. (below is a still from the episode showing me, well my cowlick at least LOL)

Here is a still from the episode (below) and a link to watch episode 5

Pitiful isn’t it? I’m just glad for my spiky hair. Here is what I was shooting during the coverage

20080905-lovebrigade-vivalafuture-0326So there it is my 15th of a second of fame alas. At least I had a blast and my photo assistant for the night was my lovely and talented daughter Sienna who actually got in there and grabbed some shots of her own.

Speaking of my daughter, tomorrow is her first performance as Annie, in the musical Annie. I’m so excited since I am yet to see her preform (she locks herself in her room & won’t let me peak) I will definitely  post some pictures
